Support by the Revolvers, the UK's No.1 60's tribute band...

One of the most under-rated R&B singers of his generation, Cliff Bennett and his group, the Rebel Rousers brought their innovative brass sound introduced  the British youth scene to soul music. So popular were they that they were the first British band to be signed to the Motown label. Under Brian Epstein’s guidance, they supported the Beatles across Europe and charted with hits like ‘One Way Love’ and ‘Got To Get You Into My Life’, the latter produced by Paul McCartney!

The Revolvers consist of four Young guys with an unrivaled, burning passion for the greatest musical decade of all time..... We are of course referring to the 1960's.

Having played over 1500 concerts, worldwide "The Revolvers" continue to wow audiences with not only their incredible musical talents but also with their unmatched authenticity.

From the meticulously sourced costumes that they wear to the vintage musical instruments that they use, this really is a fantastic 1960's retro show not to be missed!

A fantastic double bill from two of the most exciting 60's groups on the circuit...

The Merseybeats can only be described as one of the most powerful and exciting acts performing live music, they still continue to enthrall thousands of fans World-wide,  they are one of the most popular and authentic sixties bands still performing 50 years on! The Merseybeats performance is spectacular and pulsating experience, classic hits' Think Of You' 'Wishin & Hopin' and 'Sorrow' are combined with emotive ballads and explosive pyrotechnic sets.

Also on the same bill, we have The New Amen Corner who have emerged in the last couple of years as arguably the hottest band on the 60’s circuit. The band has an unrivalled ability to so perfectly recreate the sound and atmosphere of that momentous period 50 years ago when music sent good vibrations across the world. The original Amen Corner was one of the biggest influences on the sixties pop scene to ever come out of Wales.

Cliff Bennett - Vocals, Geoff Nichols (BBC Rock School) Drums,  Pete Pritchard (23 years with Scotty Moore) Bass, Dave Forristal (Finnegan’s Commitments) Keyboards. Lars Lundquist (Long time member) Lead Guitar, Bob Lovett (Long time member) Trumpet, Damián Hand (ex James Hunter Band) Sax, Aaron Liddard (Amy Winehouse Band) Sax.

Cliff crowned his success with The Rebel Rousers in 1966 with a song written exclusively for him by Lennon & McCartney - "Got To Get You Into My Life" which reached No. 3 in the UK charts, creating a unique British soul sound. Their other hits include: "Back In The USSR", "One Way Love" and "I'll Take You Home".

Cliff Bennett & The Rebel Rousers were the first London band to be signed by The Beatles manager,Brian Epstein. Their innovative brass sound introduced British youth to soul music. Within three months of Epstein's management, the band had their first UK hit single with “One Way Love” and a tour of Germany with The Beatles. They were the first British band to be signed to the Motown label.

Supporting our chosen charity Variety Wessex, we have a raffle on the night and fancy dress is encouraged, so come along to a great swinging night of 60's nostalgia!

Dave Berry & the Cruisers plus Liverpool legends The Fourmost play in a fantastic 60's double-header.

A unique, and charismatic performer, Dave Berry performs a mixture of hard R&B and pop ballads. He was extremely popular in Britain, and on Continental Europe. He had an unusual ambition for a pop performer trying to make a name for himself - to appear on TV completely hidden by a prop. In his own words, to "not appear, to stay behind something and not come out". As a rule he did a good job; hiding behind the upturned collar of his leather jacket, or even wrapping himself around, and effectively behind, the microphone's own lead. His early hits name checked his so-called backing band, The Cruisers, although their supposed creditable presence is difficult to ascertain.

"The Crying Game" (1964), "Mama" (1966) and "This Strange Effect" (1965 - the latter written by Ray Davies), are among his best-remembered hits. Indeed, "This Strange Effect" became a massive Number One hit for him in Holland and Belgium, countries where he still enjoys superstar status, resulting in a Special Award from Radio Veronica, Holland, for their best selling pop single of all time.

Another one of his songs, "Don't Gimme No Lip Child", was covered by the Sex Pistols. His stage act, drawing largely on Elvis Presley, and Gene Vincent, provided an inspiration for Alvin Stardust. Such was his enigmatic, and unconventional presence, that several punk rock acts, such as the Sex Pistols, later acknowledged him as an inspiration.

The Fourmost has its roots steeped in the eclectic 1960’s Merseybeat boom and was part of the Brian Epstein stable along with The Beatles, Billy J Kramer, Gerry and The Pacemakers and others. The band has evolved from enjoying 1960’s chart hits such as Hello Little Girl (no.9) and A Little Loving (no.6) and less popular songs as Baby I Need Your Lovin, Here There and Everywhere and a cover of George Formby’s Auntie Maggie’s Remedy.

A great double bill of 1960's performers on one stage!
